Coffee is very sensitive to air and moisture, so proper storage is essential to the perfect cup of coffee! When it comes to storing your coffee, we recommend using an airtight container and keeping your coffee in whole-bean form until you're ready to brew, if possible. Storing it in a cool, dry place with a clip works too — just not for as long. Be sure to never store your coffee in the fridge or freezer as the beans are susceptible to freezer burn and over absorption.
As for coffee brewing, we do have brewing standards for our coffee that should be followed when preparing at home. Drip coffee should be prepared using 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 oz of water. Here are some other tips:
- Use cold water
- Use the correct grind for your coffee maker (auto-drip if purchasing beans from our stores)
- Never reuse coffee grounds
- Never reheat coffee
- Coffee should be brewed at a temperature between 195 degrees and 205 degrees Fahrenheit
- Coffee should not be kept on the burner for more than 20 minutes
